The buying counter will open on Saturday, December 5 with new restrictions.
Please read through carefully and note that we are requiring sellers to call ahead.
We would hate for you to waste a trip with heavy books!

The Buying Counter will be open Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
We will not be accepting books on Wednesdays or Fridays or, of course, when we're closed on Sundays and Mondays.

All used books will be quarantined for three days.
Unfortunately, because we don't have much space to quarantine used books, we can't accept donations and any books left behind will have to be thrown away. Please don't let a book go to waste!

We also need sellers to pick up any items we didn't take by the end fo the same day. There are no exceptions to this rule.

We are limiting books to two boxes/bags per seller per day.
These containers must be no bigger than a reusable shopping bag or a banker box. We aren't able to look at books in trash bags or large plastic bins. A good rule of thumb is that you can lift and carry the container on your own to the counter without a dolly.
We will not look at boxes with any sign of insect or animal activity, including but not limited to cobwebs, spider eggs, and mouse droppings. If any sign is found while we are going through a box, we will stop going through it immediately.

Please call ahead at 505-294-2026. Calling ahead helps us to determine if the buying counter has capacity at any given time; this can change from day to day. There is a limit to the number of books we can receive daily. We'd hate for you to cart a load of books down only to be informed that we do not have capacity. Please call ahead!

We evaluate used books to buy based on the condition of the book and what we already have in store. For example, if we have too many copies of Little Fires Everywhere, we might not take yours that day. Please also keep in mind that we are still getting used to our new system and doing our best to work out the kinks. We're still doing the re-inventory of the store, which presents a new challenge for our buyers. Thank you very much for your patience!

We offer store credit or cash for books. Cash amounts offered will be less than store credit amounts. Store credits are good towards anything in the store and do not expire as long as the slip is present and legible. We unfortunately cannot replace lost or stolen store credits. (Think of them as Page 1 cash!)
